I would not say that Israel was defeated. Israel and Palestine have been living in a toxic relationship with Israel behaving like a violent pimp, beating Palestine and stealing it's land. I empathize that it felt good to see Israel taking a punch in the face but the price of that was Gaza being destroyed and 400k people being killed. On the positive side, the world now knows the true face of Zionism and they have made themselves a lot of enemies. The evil empire is going to fall, the only question is how long it will take and how many more innocent lives it is going to take down with it.
